Can you control the chaos? Hack your way into the cyberpunk world of Ovum City. Debug broken code, solve puzzles, and upgrade your hardware as you explore an open world. Don't get caught by the drones! But how does Ovum City evolve? That’s up to you!

While exploring this digital sandbox, your kid will be editing parts of Javascript code with real code syntax through a code window, and compile action and error messages to learn the concept of debugging.

  1. Can you tell what’s going to happen before you press “Run?”

  2. Can you make it all the way through the game without ever entering the view of a security drone?

  3. Can you get the Sweepo street cleaner to operate correctly, or are you sending it on a crazy rampage?

  4. BONUS: Find and race the cyber-cycle in the full game, and there are even more vehicles hidden in the Upper Levels of the city.

  5. Draw your own security robot, but only using rectangles. What about a security bot just made of triangles? And then one of circles? How do they move? What do they protect?

  6. Write out a set of rules and commands for your robots to help them run and improve your city. Which rules are higher priority? Did you forget any rules that are necessary for your robots to keep working? What rules can you write to make sure they can't be used for evil? Read more about Isaac Asimov's "laws of robotics" here.

  7. Watch this person power a lightbulb with paper and a pencil!

  8. For a hundred years, authors have told stories of futuristic worlds like ours. Find creative inspiration in these classic science fiction novels: Foundation by Isaac Asimov, Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, and A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle!
