Endless Announces $500k Partnership with DonorsChoose to Support Coding Education in Schools

We at Endless envision a world of connectivity and technical literacy for every community, particularly those who have been traditionally underserved. Today, we take this vision one step further by partnering with DonorsChoose to support creative coding projects in classrooms nationwide. Endless is fully funding every creative coding project in the greater Bay Area and rural America. In addition, we’re matching dollar for dollar every donation made to any creative coding project in America until the donation goal is met. 

We are pledging $500,000 to support a variety of classroom projects as a two-part campaign: a $225,000 flash-funding of all creative coding projects in the greater Bay Area and rural and hard-to-reach communities worldwide, immediately followed by a $275,000 one-to-one match. In the first wave of flash-funding, Endless funded 156 projects, helping 17,410 students across 151 schools.

“Basic literacy in coding is one of the most fundamental forms of literacy today, and we want to make this available to underserved communities in inner cities and rural America,” says Matt Dalio, Founder of Endless Network. “We have to start making coding education accessible earlier to spark an interest in computer science and empower confidence. Our partnership with DonorsChoose is a way of getting this into the classrooms that need it the most.” 

Some of the projects that will benefit from this partnership include Oozing Ozobot: Introductory Coding in San Jose, California, where students in grades 3-5 will receive robots. Others are designed for kids as young as kindergarten, where they’ll be exposed to coding skills through products like Bee-Bots and LEGOS.
